POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Human Resources will work in concert with the HR Departments Leaders’ to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources
(HR) department. They will ensure that legal compliance and requirements are achieved. They will collaborate closely with the SR VP HR to direct the day-to-day activities of the department while supporting the mission and goals. The HR Director will maintain the highest standards while also providing development and motivation to the team. Represents the department and company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree and a minimum of 6 years, or a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required. Individual must be able to demonstrate that they have performed, at a minimum, 5+ years’ experience working as an HR Director, VP HR, or higher position to be considered. Individual must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with C-Suite level executives.

  • An applicant who has previously worked for a defense contractor is highly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must exhibit organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and judgment are required.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Employee must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Employee must be a U.S. citizen to access and review data.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with the Leadership Team and Supervisors to understand the organization’s goals, needs and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Supervises, sets priorities of work and conducts performance reviews.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s compliance requirements.
  • Oversees the administration of HR programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, employee relations, disciplinary actions, disputes and investigations; performance, talent management; on-boarding and out-processing, recognition, morale, training and development, and safety.
  • Responsible to ensure that the policies and procedures of the department are updated and current and that they meet the requirements and needs of the organization.
  • Monitors and ensures organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Protects both the company and data; ensures data integrity and accuracy.
  • Meets with employees and supervisors on conduct, performance, complaints and concerns.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists with the development of the departmental budget.
  • Conducts investigations and inquiries as needed.
  • Will lead and direct department projects.
  • Prepares and or reviews HR reports and slides as needed.
  • Provides training, direction and guidance to company supervisors.
  • Will review for accuracy / approve expenditures, offer letters, and various personnel actions.
