Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leads functional HR related duties that includes employee and labor relations consultation, policy interpretation and application, performance and compensation management consultation, compliance with state, local and federal employment law. Other functional responsibilities may include benefits administration.
  • Partners with leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy.
  • Directs and participates in relationship building with field staff through regular field site-visits.
  • Acts as change agent to business through process design and approaches that support change and transformation – striving to lead mutual processes to best practice status.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation.
  • Delivers training on HR related topics such as leadership, management, selection and company policies for employees and leaders.
  • Develops and manages effective processes for employee onboarding, including metrics and continuous improvement.
  • Remains current on trends and innovative leadership and human resources techniques to maintain our competitive position in our industry.
  • Leads and/or supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management; merit and bonus awards; benefits enrollment; etc.
  • Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solutions and program designs i.e. training to address certain needs.
  • Partners with corporate functions such as HCMS and Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for clients.
  • Partners with the Director of Human Resources and appropriate Marmon leaders to grow the capacity of the organization’s key talent to include high potential identification (via Talent Management) and associated development programming, etc.
  • Responsible for the supervision of one or more specialists and/or professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and directs personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Well-developed coaching skills for all levels of the organization.
  • Solid business acumen.
  • Strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to make recommendations and effectively resolve employment related issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft suite of products with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working experience with WorkDay HRIS.
  • Undergraduate Degree in business, HR or related field with 7 or more years of HR experience with a combination of HR Business Partner and/or HR Leader experience preferred; or Associates degree with 10+ years of direct relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Multi-site/remote location support experience a plus.
  • HR related certification highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in coaching employees and management through complex, difficult issues.
