POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Human Resources Generalist
Classification: Regular, Full-Time, Salaried Exempt
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
Supervises: n/a

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist assists with the the daily functions of the HR department including administering pay, benefits, payroll, leaves of absence and enforcing organizational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics needed to navigate the organization and accomplish HR goals.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents completion of mandatory compliance matters relating to hiring and maintaining employment.
  • Facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants.
  • Completes orientation for newly hired Team Members.
  • Conducts background checks and employment eligibility requirements for new hires and renewals.
  • Performs routine tasks associated with compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, disciplinary matters, performance management, and payroll.
  • Assists with open enrollments, changes, and training for Team Member benefits programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, Team Members and supervisors.
  • Collaborates with appropriate leadership Team Members on complex employment matters.
  • Creates and distributes internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
  • Creates and maintains all personnel files in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with the HR team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Maintains and distributes job descriptions & performance appraisals.
  • Conducts exit interviews and the processing of all terminated employees.
  • Supplies requested HR data for compliance and reporting to leadership team.
  • Completes requests for employment verification.
  • Maintains knowledge of employment legislation and makes recommendations for policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to and engages in hiring and progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
