Bureau Veritas is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our environmental laboratory in Montreal, QC.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- University certificate in human resources or industrial relations; CHRP designation is an asset.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in human resources.
- Must be bilingual, both orally and in writing;
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), databases and HRIS modules.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, tact and discretion towards those involved.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems with a proactive approach; ability to innovate and meet challenges with confidence and tenacity; appreciation of the fast pace of work characteristic of large corporations.
- High levels of motivation and energy with attention to detail; self-learning ability and expertise in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Good time management to complete routine and varied tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent planning, organization, analysis, decision-making and implementation skills; Above average interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
Responsibilities:
- Administer human resources management for a laboratory of approximately 50 employees.
- Provide professional HR advice to a dedicated group of clients.
- Provide guidance to management and staff as well as onboarding and departing employees.
- Provide advisory feedback (coaching) to managers/supervisors.
- Respond to various requests relating to the hiring of personnel and jointly develop job descriptions (skills) with hiring managers; conduct interviews and assist the recruitment team in the process.
- Participate in the process of initiation and integration of new employees into the company.
- Participate and collaborate in training sessions.
- Keep employee files up to date.
- Maintain historical HRIS data.
- Administer the group insurance plan and the retirement savings plan.
- Ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas policies.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety policies, including the integration of new employees.
- Ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
