QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree and five to seven years Human Resources experience, or masters degree in Human Resources and two to three years Human Resources experience, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual skills highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of FMLA, EEO, Workers Compensation, OSHA, and ADA.
  • Advanced skills in ethical conduct and confidentiality.
  • Proficient problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager, Corporate HR staff, and plant supervisors and managers. The HR Generalist is responsible for the non-exempt and exempt recruiting and onboarding process. Works to ensure positive employee relations, and is also involved in training, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Assists in benefits administration by communicating benefit information to employees including enrollment dates and changes to new plans.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including writing and placing advertisements
  • Conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing, performance, and development.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintains facility organization charts.
  • Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Work with management to seek out ways to reduce turnover.
  • Maintains human resources information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Safety Committee representative.
  • Manages workplace safety.
  • Maintains OSHA Logs.
  • Manages Workers Comp, FMLA, and LOA process.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
