Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Generalist assists in a range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The role supports performance management, employee training, and HR policy development, ensuring smooth HR operations and promoting a positive work environment. The HR Generalist balances both strategic and administrative HR tasks, contributing to organizational success.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, OR LICENSURE/REGISTRATION
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred; SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or PHR preferred.
- Two+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- Ability to work onsite or hybrid Mondays through Fridays during the hours of 8am and 5pm.
- Ability to work remotely via a home office set up with access to secure internet connection.

Responsibilities:
- Support the recruitment processes, including managing job postings, scheduling and participating in candidate interviews, and onboarding new hires.
- Assist in administering employee benefits programs, such as health, medical, and dental insurances and retirement plans and partner with the finance department to pay invoices and reconcile bills.
- Enter and update employee information in NHC’s HRIS system.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
- Contribute to developing and lead in coordinating a robust onboarding program that is consistent throughout the organization.
- Coordinate with Credentialing to perform credentialing and privileging for RNs, medical assistants, and providers.
- Administrate and audit employee records and files and handle information and confidential matters with discretion; maintain employee files with the appropriate documentation required by NHC and outside agencies such as HRSA.
- Partner with the HR Director to recommend best practices regarding employment laws and regulations by monitoring and implementing HR federal and state requirements, conducting audits, and initiating training programs when necessary, ensuring policies are in place to maintain requirements.
- Assist in developing and coordinating a training and employee development strategy to meet the needs and growth of NHC and all employees, including HRSA-mandated training, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) integration, and anti-harassment standards.
- Support the performance management process, including employee evaluations and goal setting.
- Hear and resolve level-one employee grievances and escalate issues to HR Director as needed.
- Engage in proactive employee relations across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
