POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Human Resource Generalist

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field of study, required.
Experience: Four years of related work experience, preferred.
Certificates, License, Registrations: Human Resources certification, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate; Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.; Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.; Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Maintain confidential, professional relationships and protect employee information. Compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Physical: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly. Walking or standing to a significant degree or sitting constantly and pushing/pulling controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development under the direction of Executive Director of Human Resources, and as part of the Amberwell Health HR Team.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Serves as a resource to leaders in guiding the disciplinary process.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains performance evaluation forms, process and enforces compliance
  • Collaborates in HR department functions as needed, such as benefits fair, hospital week, employee events, etc.
  • Presents HR policy information at new-hire orientation
  • Conducts and oversees exit interview processes and provides feedback to leaders as appropriate when trends are identified
  • Implements employee recognition programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
