Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for applying HR knowledge to support and effectively execute best practices that will ensure effective business operations, regulatory compliance, and strong employee relations. The HR Generalist is a strategic, hands-on and collaborative role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to PeoplesBank and supports multiple functional areas of the Department. This role is expected to champion the company culture and model our mission, vison and values as a key contributor to the delivery of innovative and impactful HR initiatives and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Support the complete HR Lifecycle from onboarding to off-boarding. Understand and convey PeoplesBank Employee Programs and assist in the execution of these programs such as benefits, compensation, training and development and performance management.
  • Analyze data and understand HRIS systems; ADP, Microsoft Office products and other internal systems/software. Produce reports including but not limited to KPI dashboards and other metrics as determined.
  • Participate in full-cycle of recruitment. Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and develop job descriptions.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives through participation in the planning and execution of Associate/Bank functions and HR special projects. Research and recommend employee engagement tools and strategies including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to HR management.
  • Performs tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to training & development, performance and talent management, talent acquisition, compensation, payroll, benefits, employee engagement, wellness and safety.
  • Support employee communication efforts including the content on the HR department page on the Company Intranet and ADP online site.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Manage special assignments and projects such as technology utilization and workflow improvements, which impact HR Department policies/practices.
  • Completes all yearly compliance training and testing and complies with bank, federal, and state regulations. Adheres to departmental and bank-wide service standards.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience working in Human Resources.

COMPUTER /TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to navigate and leverage HRIS and talent and learning management systems. Experience with ADP highly desired.
