Description:
HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALISTAs Human Resources Generalist, you will support talented and diverse employees throughout the school district who impact students lives and transform student outcomes. You will accomplish this as part of a Human Resources team that collaboratively works with district stakeholders.Reports to: Director of Human ResourcesQualifications: A dedicated HR professional with enthusiasm, passion, and a demonstrated track record of success. Bachelors degree required. 1-3 years of human resources experience, including human resource management systems, such as ADP.

Responsibilities: HR Operations & AdministrationRespond to human resources-related inquiriesSupport best practices for employee retention in HR programs, procedures, and policiesProvide back-up support to the ADP Payroll and Benefits SpecialistsSupport open enrollment, qualified status changes, training, and employee and family communication for employee benefits programsProvide guidance to employees on Human Resources policy and procedure Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements and oversee employee labor laws and regulations to assure complianceSupport the district’s health and safety program, including OSHA compliance, and worker’s compensationWork in collaboration with external partners (e.g., MEA Benefits Trust) to enhance health, wellness, and safety within the districtOversee leave of absence programs for the district, including FMLA, Maine FML, sabbaticals, etc.Maintain employee records and paperworkAll other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human ResourcesStrategic Talent ManagementSupport Talent Acquisition initiatives, such as recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboardingManage the continual refinement of the districts human resource management systemMaintain job descriptions and positions for all positionsStay up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practicesMonitor key human resource and organizational metrics to support data-based decision-makingDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advocacy Ensure a strong Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion focus throughout HR operationsSupport the development and implementation of district-wide programs, practices and policies that lead to a diverse workforce and inclusive cultureBe seen and heard as a champion for all RSU 21 staff and studentsCompetencies: Builds trusting, collaborative relationships. Terms of Employment: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Total Compensation consistent with Board policy
