Description:

C-P Flexible Packaging is seeking a high-quality HR professional to join our team. As the HR Generalist at our Buffalo, NY facility, you will provide expert guidance and training on employee and labor relations to managers and employees. Your role will encompass overseeing all HR activities including performance enhancement, leading investigations, handling employee disciplinary matters, and ensuring adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA degree in HR, business administration or related field,
  • SHRM-CP/PHR certification preferred
  • High School graduation/equivalent required
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ HR experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years; Union experience
    Pay: $75,000-85,000 annually
    The salary range indicated in the posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components may include participation in our bonus program, group health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan, paid time off, and paid holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates recruitment efforts, including posting open positions, reviewing applications, working with hiring managers, coordinating interviews and making job offers
  • Coordinates bidding process for union positions
  • Conducts needs assessment, helps to develop training curriculum and conducts training sessions on various HR topics
  • Manages new hire orientation and onboarding process
  • Manages timecards, vacation calendar, and attendance (utilizing ADP Enhanced Time (eTime))
  • Oversees stay and exit interview programs
  • Responsible for employee relations, providing advice and counsel on personnel issues
  • Creates employee change notices and maintains personnel files
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing data and trends
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, coaching and counseling managers and employees
  • Respond to unemployment claims and represents company at hearings
  • Participates and helps manage the company’s safety program
  • Management of workers’ compensation claims
  • Administration of state and federal leaves (FMLA, STD, PFL, etc.) and ADA compliance
  • Manages the performance review process and guides management personnel through the process
  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning
  • Manage union grievance process and participate in meetings
  • Maintain and submit Union Dues and Pension reports monthly
  • Administers compensation and benefits programs by providing advice and explanations to employees
  • Answers employee questions, addresses employee concerns, and act as internal partner with Payroll
  • Create and manage job descriptions and their review/revisions with managers in compliance with the FLSA standards
  • Manages engagement committee and participate in safety committee meetings
  • Assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Stays current on federal, state, case law changes and monitors labor law updates and newsletters for changes that affect HR
  • Other duties as assigned
