ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and partner with leaders to develop and implement solutions (i.e. career development, training, onboarding, etc.)
- Assist with general employee relations and provide support to people leaders in resolution of issues
- Support and lead HR projects and initiatives as required
- Support and develop HR communications as required
- Assist staff with their questions related to HR policies, programs, and procedures
- Provide support and coordination of employee performance reviews, promotions, and compensation reviews.
- Assist managers and team members with the interpretation and administration of established policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations for revisions to current policies and procedures as well as recommendations for new policies and procedures.
- Continue to promote the organization’s positive workplace culture of feedback, open communication, and firm values.
- Contribute, with a continuous improvement mindset, to the implementation of a best-in-class talent
- Working with IT for all onboarding and offboarding needs.
- As the super-user for Dayforce, ensure maintenance and process improvements through the accurate entry of electronic employee files, manage access permissions, perform data audits, and assist with researching and testing process changes. Maximize the utilization of the platform to streamline processes etc.
- Liaise with Payroll and IT on employee changes, new hires and terminations.
- Back up payroll and benefits as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an HR generalist role, preferably within the commercial insurance industry
- Post-Secondary education required, a specialization in Human Resources Management a definite asset.
- Demonstrated strength utilizing Dayforce is required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extremely organized and detail orientated
- Able to proactively problem solve, exercise good judgment, and make decisions
- Proven ability to take initiative, manage competing initiatives, and meet deadlines without compromising quality of work
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information
- Able to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
- Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) is an asset
