Position: Talent Acquisition Coordinator Internship
Department: Human Resources
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
This role is a fantastic entry level Human Resources role which will support the HR Team in its level of service to our business units in multiple companies. The successful Intern will enjoy a term of continuous learning in the field of Human Resources, with a focus on recruitment, retention, and employee culture/engagement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ideal candidate will be available for an 8 month internship
  • Candidate Must be able to drive and possess a valid class 5 drivers license and be able to travel to job fairs occasionally

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post Secondary education in Business, Human Resources is an asset
  • Experience with various computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and familiarity with how online job application software works)
  • Prior experience in a role that valued customer service, fast pace, and enthusiasm

Responsibilities:

Create and update job descriptions and job postings for vacant positions, ensuring timely posting of roles and candidate application monitoring

Screen, select and interview candidates for various roles and positions

  • Make recommendations for hiring and retention based on market data research
  • Ensure all pre-employment testing is completed and any accommodations are reviewed and discussed
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, safety team, and other stakeholders regarding the recruitment and retention process
  • Attend external job fairs, create and maintain community partnerships as they relate to recruitment, and promote the company opportunities externally and internally to generate a strong candidate pipeline
  • Participate in manpower planning and the human capital planning process
  • Make recommendations for compensation adjustments and consistency to ensure both companies are being competitive in our labour market
  • Provide excellent HR service to our current employees, participate in Human Resources and Safety team initiatives
  • Support and participate in the planning and execution of employee engagement activities and company culture strategy
