DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources Manager will support the Head of HR with the implementation of strategic people initiatives that align to the focus areas for the department & wider firm.
In addition, the HR Manager will own key areas relating to all stages of the employee journey with Flint Bishop. This position will play an integral role in areas such as learning & development, HR systems & processes and employee relations.
This is an exciting role which will strengthen the Human Resources function at a time of continued growth.
Reporting directly to the Head of HR, this role also works alongside a HR Officer and HR Coordinator.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

You will:

  • Preferably be CIPD level 5 or 7 qualified or working towards completion.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior HR role, preferably in a professional services organisation.
  • Have a high level of knowledge and understanding of employment law.
  • Be able to demonstrate proactive management of HR projects and ER caseload with a minimum of supervision
  • Be a team player and able to get on with others
  • Be a strong communicator at C suite and board level

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of HR with the implementation of strategic people initiatives that align to the focus areas for the department & wider firm.
  • Ensure the accuracy and availability of people data on a monthly & quarterly basis. Prepare reports and scorecards to present to the management board and heads of department.
  • Lead our new starter process, which includes preparing bespoke induction plans, delivering day 1 induction training and conducting 4-week appraisals for all new joiners.
  • Trial and onboard a new HR system for the Firm, this involves mapping the market for suitable products, attending demonstration meetings, presenting recommendations to the Head of HR & CEO and onboarding/updating the system once purchased.
  • Conduct sickness absence meetings and return to work meetings. Coordinate DSE and occupational health assessments where appropriate, consider reasonable adjustments to support sickness absence processes and monitor absence trends on an agreed basis.
  • Administer all exit interviews and prepare monthly figures based on results. Present findings to the Head of HR and wider board on a quarterly basis. Attend follow up meetings with leavers where appropriate.
  • Work alongside the Head of HR to submit key information to the SRA on an annual basis. This includes diversity, equity and inclusion data & continued professional development records for qualified solicitors.
  • Work alongside the Head of HR to obtain Investors in People Gold or Platinum award. Assessments occur every 3 years, annual programme should be implemented to ensure continuous improvement in line with the desired standard.
  • Design and send regular pulse surveys. Prepare results presentation to be delivered to the Head of HR and CEO. Attend follow up action meetings with individual HODs.
  • Spot check employee files regularly including starter & leaver checklists. Report any findings to the HR Officer.
  • Assist the Head of HR with the annual PDP process. This includes designing PDP forms, ensuring proper completion and scheduling summary meetings with HODs.
  • Conduct training needs analysis annually in line with PDP process.
  • Hold key role on the Firm’s CSR committee, preparing annual events and fundraising calendar.
  • Conduct ad hoc market mapping exercises as required, this includes competitor analysis for salaries and wider benefits. Present findings to the Head of HR & CEO.
  • Attend maternity & paternity meetings as required. Conduct risk assessments and ensure keeping in touch check points throughout absence.
  • Take ownership of apprenticeship levy on behalf of the Firm. Make recommendations on use of the levy to present to the Head of HR & CEO.
  • Assist with all other general HR duties as required by the Head of HR.
