Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Human Resources Manager who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment; to our clients, families, and each other.
The Human Resources Manager’s ability to lead with empathy, listen actively, and adapt to the unique challenges of a non-profit environment will be essential. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships across all departments and with organizational leaders while driving key HR initiatives.
This position is a non-unionized, full-time, permanent position. The salary is $70,000 per annum. Hours per week are 40.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Support: Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to the Human Resources Coordinator and Human Resources Assistant, ensuring their growth and development align with organizational goals.
- HR Policy Management: Manage all HR policies, revise existing policies, and create new policies to meet the evolving needs of the organization. Collaborate with leaders to ensure policies are effectively communicated and implemented.
- Employee/Labour Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to staff, managers, and directors on employee relations matters, ensuring positive communication, disciplinary procedures, corrective actions, and compliance with employment legislation and the collective agreement. Maintain a balanced and positive employee relations environment.
- Health & Safety Leadership: Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and promote a culture of safety and well-being.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Stay informed of employment law, ESA, OHSA, industry trends, and best practices, ensuring their effective application within the organization.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Support the implementation of DEI initiatives, fostering an inclusive culture that values diversity in all its forms.
- HR Project Support: Assist the Chief Human Resources Officer and HR Business Analyst with project work, including succession planning, compensation benchmarking, workforce planning, and other key initiatives. Deliver workshops to support leadership development and organizational goals.
