Position Overview
NewCold is seeking a Human Resources Manager for our ambient facility in McDonough, GA. The HR Manager is a member of the Site Leadership Team and is an integral part of the growth and development.
This position reports to the Senior Regional Director of Human Resources – North America and the Site Manager. The role has at least two direct reports (HR Generalist and Office Assistant) and partners with the leadership team to establish people operations at a new site that leads to an effective, efficient and supportive team environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop the overarching strategy and tactical actions for NewCold Atlanta Operations, LLC.
Partner with leadership team, Controller, Safety team and other HR team members, to develop, manage and assess, site processes, policies, procedures and change to be the best-in-class employer in the area.
Manage the HR Generalist and Office Assistant to ensure HR department is operating at its very best and to its fullest capacity.
Manage and review biweekly payroll processes, pull reports and provide to departments as needed/requested.
Advises leadership and supports Site Manager in all activities related to the people operations including but not limited to, training and development, performance management, succession planning, orientation and onboarding, talent acquisition, retention, recognition and rewards.
Ensure safety is top priority by meeting with and partnering with Safety team regularly and managing workers compensation claims to mitigate risk.
Managing employee relation issues by diffusing situations as they arise, implementing controls to maintain a fair work environment and conducting investigations as needed.
Conducts strategic workforce planning, organizational assessments and succession planning with HR and site leadership.
Develop, implement and ensure consistent application of federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures. Is the local subject matter expert as it relates to state and local law/requirements.
Local implementation of company HR policies by working with outside service providers (Accounting, Benefits, etc.) to ensure compliance and deadlines are met.
May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas and other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of human resources management experience, preferably in a warehouse, distribution or logistics fulfillment center environment.
Adept at Microsoft office especially excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage through ambiguous circumstances.
Self-starter with the ability to develop processes, tools, procedures, etc. with little to no supervision.
Can operate comfortably in a dual-reporting environment.
Education/Certification
B.S. or B.A. degree required; Masters degree preferred.
PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
