As the Human Resources Manager working in the Talent, Culture and Leadership team at Pomerleau Construction, you will focus on leading and delivering authentic service and excellence in human resources to support our growth and business goals. Supporting our work on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion- you will drive the achievement of strategic objectives through a people perspective, serving as an advocate, catalyst and a champion of our HR global approach.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Partner with local and project leadership to support the execution of British Columbia’s strategic plan through its rapid growth and various HR priorities.
  • Assist with and be accountable for the development and execution of local recruitment workforce planning. In conjunction with British Columbia’s Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will actively participate in the full cycle recruitment for select or senior level managerial roles.
  • Lead and provide support as required for compensation decisions and support for employees, including worksite staff.
  • Effectively handle highly sensitive and confidential employee/worksite labor relations issues arising within the company including workplace investigations, grievances, discipline, performance matters and general employee relations.
  • Collaborate and partner with the Talent, Culture and Leadership Centre of Excellence team in the execution and management of a variety of projects and programs in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Organizational Development and Training & Development.
  • Oversee and facilitate the implementation of HR policies, programs & processes, and the creation of communication timelines, messaging and assets for employee-facing projects.
  • Take part and provide insight into the development, implementation and rollout of Organizational Development initiatives and special projects.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Labour Relations process across the British Columbia region and collaborate with our Labour Relations team to provide support to local leadership as required.

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • A post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial or labour relations or any other related discipline, combined with 10+ years of progressive HR management experience and business partnering experience.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Industrial Relations Counsellor (CIRC) is preferred.
  • Proficient in all areas of Canadian employment laws.
  • Proven experience in labour relations, working in a union and non-unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaboratively partner with multiple leaders, providing effective guidance and challenge where appropriate.
  • Proven experience driving people-based initiatives for a developing territory and proven track record of full-cycle recruitment success.
    The expected salary range for this opportunity is $108,000 - $154,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
