Description:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 plus years in Human Resources in a manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Minimum University Degree or Community College Diploma -CHRP/L Preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all appropriate legislation (i.e., ESA, OH&S, Human Rights Act, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of compensation and benefits programs
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Familiarity with payroll processes
  • A background in Recruitment, including utilizing Temporary agencies.
  • A consultative style and approach with the proven ability to develop credible relationships with management and employees.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • A competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • A strong business acumen
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operation and administration of the HR function
  • Update employee information, including benefits enrollments and changes.
  • Provide full-cycle recruiting for all professional and manufacturing job vacancies.
  • Respond to management and employee requests regarding human resources issues, policies, and regulations.
  • Conduct initial orientation for newly hired employees.
  • Participate in the off-boarding process, ensuring documentation is complete.
  • Provide key support and coaching to managers and supervisors on a wide range of issues and/or initiatives.
  • Assess training needs and source training programs as required.
  • Assist the payroll administrator by providing relevant data (new hire info, absences, leaves, vacations, terminations, etc.)
  • Promote health and safety programs and oversee accident/incident investigations.
  • Provide oversight for absence management, WSIB, LTD claims, and return to work programs.
  • Ensure compliance to all employment laws and regulations while staying abreast of upcoming legislative changes.
