Description:

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The scope of the HR Manager is to plan, direct and coordinate activities to maximize the strategic value of the Human Resources Department and maintains functions such as talent management, employee training and development, compensation, benefits, communications, regulatory compliance, and security. HR Manager assists and advises department managers and supervisors regarding human resources issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular and timely attendance is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred with minimum of 5 years of successful HR management
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable HR related state and Federal laws and regulations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in work flow and constantly changing priorities.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
  • Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
  • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers

  • Ensures that HR provides prospective and new employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits. In addition, ensures that employee orientation program fosters understanding of company policies and procedures and provides a positive outlook toward organizational objectives.
  • Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as affirmative action program, equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment and recommends needed changes.
  • Plans, directs, manages and coordinates work activities of direct reports relating to employment, compensation, benefits, safety and employee relations and other HR related activities.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with all HR related state and federal laws and regulations and company policies and procedures. Interprets policies as needed and recommends changes as necessary.
  • Keeps management apprised on all critical matters on a timely basis so issues can be addressed in an expeditious manner.
  • Manages compensation and benefits programs. Analyzes and makes recommendations to modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Works with managers to analyze training needs and helps design programs to enhance employee development. Manages workers compensation, employee communications programs, and employee welfare and community relations.
  • Additional duties as assigned
