The Human Resources Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team at Titan Trailers Inc. They provide leadership to the Human Resources team, with efficiency, professionalism, confidentiality and respect. The Human Resources Manager provides a consistently high standard of support to the Human Resources Team and the employees and management at Titan Trailers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University Degree in Human Resources Management or College diploma or other related program of study
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a Human Resources Leadership position
  • Strong knowledge of current employment law matters, with a strong commitment to diversity management.
  • Proven track record of success in staff management, payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, training, and employee relations.
  • Experience with applicable laws (e.g. Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code)
  • Politically and culturally sensitive.
  • Effective communication with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to identify developmental needs of employees and to provide coaching, mentoring, and other support,
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to staff privacy.
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and techniques related to job classification, job analysis, and job descriptions.
  • Knowledge of principles and proven experience applying theories, and techniques related to employee relations, personnel management, and recruitment.
  • Experience with automated software applications and HR systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional leadership to the members of the Human Resources Team
  • Build and promote an HR identity that fosters company culture, performance and employee engagement
  • Advise the management team on compensation and benefits programs allowing for fair and equitable administration of the organization’s compensation strategy
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans for HR, recruitment and employee engagement initiatives in alignments with the owners strategic plans
  • Assist managers and supervisors in identifying their staffing needs and provide sourcing solutions, role suitability assessment and final selection of qualified candidates
  • Administer and improve on an effective onboarding program for new hires to introduce new employees to Titan, increase employee learning, retention, performance and productivity
  • Provide advice to owners, managers and supervisors to assist in managing their teams
  • Ensure that all relevant policies, procedures, practices, processes, and systems meet Titan requirements and comply with applicable legislation.
  • Review existing and forthcoming legislation to determine HR impact on the organization; make recommendations regarding legislation.
  • Manage the Performance Review Process and ensure all leaders adhere to the program
  • Manage and coordinate training requirements and employee/leader development initiatives
  • Identify the competencies and performance levels of employees along with managers and supervisors to seek out high potentials for succession and career progression
  • Address and resolve inappropriate employee behaviour, special performance issues, and so on. Resolve conflicts between management and employees, and/or between individual employees.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to managers and employees and encourage people to take ownership of their actions and opportunities
  • Coordinates with HR Team with scheduling, vacation and leave management to ensure effective coverage of production and overall business flow
  • Coordinates with HR Team to ensure all government reporting is completed and within relevant legislation
  • Manage annual employee engagement events such as Company picnic and Christmas luncheon
