Job description
Under the supervision of the Coordinator and Team Lead of Human Resources, the successful candidate will be committed to providing high quality, customer focused support for clients. In this role, the Human Resources Officer will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to provide human resources expertise and consultation while ensuring compliance with Board policies, labour agreements and employment laws. The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for supporting and managing various processes in human resources.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working on a variety of duties simultaneously, is excited about bringing new ideas and rolling out new HR trends and initiatives, especially in the area of recruitment and selection. The successful candidate will be able to learn about the Boards values and work independently. This person will have a strong work ethic demonstrating pride in, and accountability for, the quality of their work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in relevant field (Human Resources, Business, etc.)
CHRP/CPHR/CHRL designation is preferred
3-5 years of related experience
Proven background and experience specifically in the areas of recruitment and selection
Proficiency with Google Applications and working knowledge of HRIS systems
Knowledge of the Education Act, the Ontario Labour Relations Act, ESA and other applicable legislation
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative and exercise good judgement
Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
This is a full-time permanent position with an annual salary range of $92,779 - $100,637. The anticipated start date of the assignment will be as soon as the recruitment process has been completed. A comprehensive employee benefits and pension package is provided.

Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and advice to management and staff on the implementation of human resources programs, policies and procedures
Provides advice and assistance to managers and staff to ensure compliance with Collective Agreements and legislative requirements
Assist Leaders with effective employee relations, attendance and performance management
Responsible for recruitment and selection and effectively managing applicable transfer processes
Research and facilitate process improvements with a focus on recruitment and selection
Assists in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
Facilitates the delivery of human resources programs and executes related strategies through presentations and involvement on project teams
Participates on various committees, both in HR and for client initiatives
Performs other related duties as assigned
