Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Onboarding Specialist oversees the hiring process for all employment. This position provides guidance and assistance to all levels of management regarding the college’s hiring process, relevant DHRM and VCCS policies, and the use of the Applicant Tracking System (NATS). This position ensures compliance with EEO/AA, VCCS and college policies in the screening, selection and hiring of staff.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Ensures hiring managers abiding to the selection processes to ensure compliance with Federal, State, DHRM, VCCS, and NOVA policies and procedures regarding employment.
  • Review recruitment and selection documents to ensure equitable, fair, and compliant hiring practices.
  • Conduct pre-employment background checks and Launch new hires and transfers in Avature and ensure the successful on-boarding of hires.
  • Launch new hires into E-Verify.
  • Recruitment files are complete and uploaded to each hiring proposal.
  • Review and audit student/FWS hiring packets in ImageNow.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and ensure a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students and the general public

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Human Resources Coordinator or demonstrated level of responsibility comparable to a generalist or coordinator in a Human Resources environment.
  • Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking systems.
  • Customer service experience.
