Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Dermatology has an opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Human Resources Professional (open rank – intermediate to senior). This position will be an integral role in the department, providing department level HR services, liaison with HR Shared Services, and working with all faculty and staff within the department and School of Medicine.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Intermediate Level:
- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Senior Level:
- A bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broad, diversified professional experience, preferably in an academic medical center.
- A master’s degree in human resources, business, or similar field.
- Previous experience with University of Colorado recruitment, HR, payroll, and procurement systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
- Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to communicate with various constituencies to engender trust and credibility at all levels of the organization and work effectively in a complex and political environment.
- Ability to tolerate a high degree of ambiguity, yet work effectively to fulfill the missions, goals, and objectives of the Department of Dermatology.
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and coordinate financial and administrative activities.
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, financial record keeping and accounting systems (i.e. PeopleSoft Finance System or similar software).
- Experience that demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Duties: Human Resources – 70%
- Acts as HR Shared Services Liaison for recruitment and hiring process for University faculty and staff
- Oversees payroll processes for the University and CU Medicine
- Manages digital personnel records for all Department employees.
- Performs time entry and leave tracking functions
- Oversees the Department evaluation process for Faculty, Staff, Post-doctoral Fellows, and CU Medicine employees.
- Attends all HR (University and CU Medicine) and finance-related monthly meetings to ensure HR compliance for the Department.
- Manages credentialing of faculty with UCH and CU Medicine
- Manages University and UCHealth badge requests, renewals, and information.
General Administrative/Communication Support (30%)
- Maintain and update Department website with requested changes.
- Generate Departmental communications at the request of Departmental Leadership
- Provide support at Department sponsored events and functions
- Supports Dermatology procurement needs.
- Assists with other various electronic recordkeeping and data processes, updating spreadsheets, schedules and other projects as assigned.
