Description:

SUMMARY

The HR & Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for providing a consistently high standard of HR support to the human resources department while maintaining confidentiality. The HR & Recruitment Coordinator, will report directly to the HR Manager and will be responsible for recruitment, engagement, and retention of staff. They will work closely with the HR and Operations teams to build trusted relationships and partnerships throughout Atlantic Poultry Incorporated (API) to provide support to future growth and development of API staff.
Schedule
The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday working 40 hours per week. Daily start and end times are flexible and can be negotiated with the HR Manager. Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on business needs.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide timely and accurate recruitment solutions and innovative strategies to attract qualified candidates both nationally and internationally.
  • Manage the hourly front line recruitment process, job descriptions, job postings, applicant screening, scheduling, interviewing, reference checks, etc.
  • Complete Co-op student recruitment as required and apply for funding.
  • Work with hiring managers to identify staffing requirements.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience for all applicants.
  • Represent API at local job fairs.
  • Prepare new hire documentation including offers.
  • Coordinate Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) recruitment including, phone screens, interviews, references, offers, organize hiring documents, submit Atlantic Immigration Program endorsements, etc.
  • As directed by the HR Manager arrange rental accommodations, flights, transportation to and from airport, transportation to and from work, SIN, Health Cards, and other settlement details for TFW as required.
  • Stay current with TFW hiring programs.
  • Facilitate API onboarding process.
  • Utilize ADP to recruit and maintain employee records.
  • Enter new hire information and employment changes into ADP.
  • Create monthly newsletters.
  • Administer employee confirmation letters as required.
  • Collect and maintain drivers abstracts for new and current drivers.
  • Complete exit interviews as required.
  • Contribute to a positive and welcoming work culture.
  • Participate in organizing company social events.
  • Assistant with HR policy development as required.
  • Order and pick up new cell phones for new/transitioning employees as required.
  • Contribute to an environment free of animal cruelty, abuse and/or neglect for our poultry.
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential.
  • Practice biosecurity protocols.
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post secondary education related to Human Resources Management or Business Administration or HR work experience is an asset.
  • Experience recruiting TFWs is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills in excel, word, power point, SharePoint.
  • Well organized.
  • Pleasant, outgoing personality, with a friendly positive approach to employee relations.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time
  • Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Adaptable to meet changing and ongoing recruitment needs
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
