  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and support on policies and procedures.
  • Manage complex queries related to employee lifecycle activities, including employee relations, absence management, performance management, and more.
  • Engage and update colleagues and managers throughout their case management journey.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the wider People Function to drive change and optimize processes.

Location Requirement:
Hybrid; 2 days per week of in-office collaboration from our new North America Headquarters in Atlanta (619 Ponce, March 2025)

Minimum Qualifications: Is this you?

  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources and at least 2 years of experience specializing in Employee Relations.
  • Proven knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance, with a readiness to learn about Canadian regulations.
  • Experience with case management systems and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis to effectively interpret and leverage HR data.
  • You are known for your excellent and effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, empathy, and resilience in handling complex employee relations issues.
  • You have an inquisitive mindset and take strong initiative to continuously improve processes and make valuable contributions to the team.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Absence Management:

  • Responsible for Absence Management in the region, coaching and supporting managers on areas such as reasonable adjustments, processing of leave, and handling sickness queries (in collaboration with the Benefits Advisory Team).
  • Monitor and assess absence trends, promoting early intervention and escalating trends to Colleague Relations and Strategic Business Partners.

Health & Wellbeing:

  • Support colleagues’ health and wellbeing by providing advice and guidance on wellbeing support pathways.
  • Administer private health insurance claims and support colleagues and managers through the process.

Policy Implementation & Communication:

  • Provide expert advice on Sage policies and procedures, ensuring these are applied fairly and consistently. Act as a point of escalation in the People Services team.
  • Update and review communications, colleague and manager guidance, and people training documentation in line with local legislation and best practices.

Employee Relations:

  • Provide colleague support across employee relations activities, including but not limited to capability, performance, investigation, disciplinary actions, grievance, redundancy, absence, and flexible working, in collaboration with ER Specialists.
  • Administer and create formal communications across employee relations processes.

People Management Support:

  • Liaise with the Sage Colleague support network.
  • Support organizational change programs.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify continuous improvements to simplify processes, create global standards, and improve the colleague experience.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Data Retention schedules.
