Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business seeks a Human Resources Specialist III to serve as the primary point of contact and dedicated liaison for College of Business employees regarding payroll processing, recruitment, and other HR related matters. The ideal candidate will enjoy working both independently and in the context of a team to support the college. This position will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Process personnel actions including new hires, terminations, funding changes, FTE adjustments, annual increases, and other employment-related matters.
  • Coordinate faculty and staff recruitment processes for the College of Business. Collaborate with the Business and Finance Officer and hiring managers to ensure alignment with unit needs and university procedures. Oversee posting, screening, and interviews. Submit job offers, create offer letters, and oversee criminal background checks.
  • Manage extra compensation process for the college. Collaborate with each department to gather necessary information, communicate deadlines, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Manage biweekly and monthly payroll processes by resolving errors and navigating deadlines
  • Orchestrate the annual performance review process for faculty and staff, leveraging ePerformance and MyVITA systems.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees and supervisors on time reporting, payroll processes, and policy updates.
  • Administer the Work Study program by posting positions, facilitating hiring processes, and monitoring work hours and budgets.
  • Build queries to extract and analyze employee data to provide insights and recommendations on staffing needs, salary equity, and demographic reporting.
  • Collaborate with Trulaske Staff Council on strategic initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
