Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration:
  • Administer and ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), providing vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries, including claim issues, plan changes, and general questions about benefits.
  • Enroll employees in benefits programs and process life status changes as needed.
  • Manage health savings accounts and assist with the administration of the 403(b) retirement plan, including enrollments, plan changes, and contribution management.
  • Oversee the annual open enrollment process, including distributing materials, conducting information sessions, and ensuring timely and accurate enrollment.
  • Manage worker’s compensation claims and accident reports, ensuring proper processing and year-end reporting.
  • Onboarding and Orientation:
  • Assist with new-hire orientations, ensuring employees are informed about their benefits options and enrollment procedures.
  • Coordinate and participate in the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable employment laws and University policies, ensuring that all benefits administration is in compliance.
  • Process and administer leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) cases.
  • Provide necessary reports on benefits utilization, compliance, and other relevant HR metrics.
  • Develop, document, and maintain operating processes, procedures, and data/records systems within the HRIS (e.g., Jenzabar, ADP).
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement performance management tools and other HR initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the HR Director to support the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is preferred. An associate degree in HR or 5 years of related experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
  • Previous experience working with HRIS systems is necessary, with experience in ADP being a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
