Responsibilities:
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer and ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), providing vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries, including claim issues, plan changes, and general questions about benefits.
- Enroll employees in benefits programs and process life status changes as needed.
- Manage health savings accounts and assist with the administration of the 403(b) retirement plan, including enrollments, plan changes, and contribution management.
- Oversee the annual open enrollment process, including distributing materials, conducting information sessions, and ensuring timely and accurate enrollment.
- Manage worker’s compensation claims and accident reports, ensuring proper processing and year-end reporting.
- Onboarding and Orientation:
- Assist with new-hire orientations, ensuring employees are informed about their benefits options and enrollment procedures.
- Coordinate and participate in the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable employment laws and University policies, ensuring that all benefits administration is in compliance.
- Process and administer leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) cases.
- Provide necessary reports on benefits utilization, compliance, and other relevant HR metrics.
- Develop, document, and maintain operating processes, procedures, and data/records systems within the HRIS (e.g., Jenzabar, ADP).
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement performance management tools and other HR initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the HR Director to support the department’s goals and objectives.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is preferred. An associate degree in HR or 5 years of related experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
- Previous experience working with HRIS systems is necessary, with experience in ADP being a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
