Description:
Responsibilities:
- Define objectives and metrics for the Human Resources, ensuring they are aligned with the division’s strategic plan;
- Hold accountability for the achievement of the Human Resources Department’s objectives;
- Assume responsibility of labor and employee relations (this includes serving as a primary contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance, support, and resolution strategies; conduct or assist thorough investigations, ensuring fair and consistent treatment);
- Coach and mentor team members, as well as the management teams, on the importance of Agnico Eagle’s culture and of labor relation management considerations in Nunavut as well as the interdependence between the HR strategy and the operations;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and reporting agencies as well as legal compliance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations covering the human resources field;
- Promote transmission of the organizational culture by providing mentoring, coaching and feedback to growing teams and senior business partners;
- Overview, monitor and control the operating budget of each area under your supervision;
- Contribute to strategic staffing activities, recruitment and development of the workforce;
- Communicate, motivate and build strategic relationships at all levels within the Nunavut divisions and with all stakeholders;
- Ability to serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource to senior management;
