Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The HR Specialist supports the President, Management and Staff with the overall provision of Human Resources services, recruitment, interviewing, hiring, research and updating of policies for United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd. Other administrative duties may include data entry, filing and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary education or related experience
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in a Human Resources positions
- Human Resources Management Certificate an asset
- CHRP/CHRL designation an asset
- Demonstrated success in implementing various Human Resource programs
- Proven ability to effectively build relationships across the company
- Proven demonstration in discretion and business ethics
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and a sense of urgency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proven demonstration of fairness and trustworthiness
- Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Excellent telephone skills and letter writing skills
- Strong knowledge of human resources practices and principles

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Selection Process for all vacancies within the Company
- Source candidates, screen resumes, interview candidates, conduct reference checks
- Assist in the selection of candidates and presentation of offer letters
- Administer the Criminal Back Check Program and Documentation Security Programs
- Support and provide administration for various security programs
- Review and update various HR Policies to meet or exceed all legislative requirements
- Research company compliance with all existing government requirements (ESA), Human Rights Legislation, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and AODA.
- Manage the orientation and on boarding process
- Employee Relations
- Participates in management and company staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as required
- Research new legislation and other HR Related information and programs as required
- Explore grants and programs
- Work with local Universities/Colleges to recruit staff from coop programs
- Assist with Company event planning and execution
- Assist with hosting Company visitors and internal meetings
- Back-up Reception
- Support Payroll Manager
- Other duties as assigned
