Description:
CONTRACT TYPE: 2 YEARS FIXED TERM (MUST BE ABLE TO START JANUARY 2025 DUE TO PROGRAMME DELIVERY NEEDS)
Are you passionate about humanitarianism, volunteering and working with young people and the wider community? Are you an experienced and dynamic Programme Manager who loves to work in a direct delivery role within the community?
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Programme Manager for our new ‘Humankind’ Programme. This programme is all about building connections and skills within communities while promoting community resilience through humanitarian education and voluntary action.
The successful candidate will advance the delivery of this 2-year programme which includes taking diverse groups through a course of humanitarian education workshops as well as delivering a variety of cross-community engagement events and activities. Through these activities you will look to promote humanitarian principles and peace and engage with challenges being faced in the community, including those facing refugees & asylum seekers. You will ensure that all programme targets and milestones are met as well as leading the strategic direction, management and evaluation of this key initiative, ensuring alignment with the British Red Cross’s mission.
The programme will emphasise engagement with a younger audience (15-25 years) but also look to engage older participants to ensure an intergenerational element.
TO BE A SUCCESSFUL HUMANKIND PROGRAMME MANAGER, YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent learning or experience
- Recognised minimum level 3 qualification in youth work or equivalent by experience
- Working knowledge of peace, prosperity and cross-community themes in a local context
- Developing and running programmes for young people in a variety of settings, particularly intergenerationally.
- Working knowledge of legislation relevant to working with and supporting young people
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
- Demonstrated success in delivering programmes on time, particularly those with multiple milestones and complex objectives.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with a focus on delivering results.
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and stakeholder relationships.
