Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Experience designing Industrial Control Panels – Knowledge of UL 508A
  • Previous experience/understanding of commercial Building Management Systems / Building Automation Systems would be an asset.
  • HVAC equipment unit experience is a MUST
  • This role can potentially lead to a team lead role, managing several employees within our organization.
  • Must understand HVAC air handlers, direct/indirect units
  • Understand operational processes, electrical power, electrical controls and pneumatics
  • The position requires working with multiple disciplines including electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Designing Electrical wiring diagrams
  • Reviewing/Updating Wiring diagrams
  • Create bill of materials
  • Create/manage a process between shop workers and designers
  • Bring up ideas and solutions to have efficient processes within our organization
  • Understand HVAC/Electrical parts
  • Candidates with a strong background in HVAC industrial controls; this includes air make up units, both direct fired, and indirect fired, Air conditioning systems, including DX systems, chillers, and evaporative will receive preference.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Create wiring diagrams to achieve sequence of operation by project specification.
  • Writing Sequence of Operations for HVAC units
  • Previous programming exposure would be an asset
  • Ability to use AutoCAD, must have an intermediate level or better
  • Previous experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and operator interface controllers such as HMI’s or touch-screens is required; this includes at a minimum Allen Bradley, Distech and/ or Schneider would be asset.
  • A highly motivated self-starter with exceptional communication, leadership and computer skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and past experience should demonstrate achievements supporting a results oriented focus and use of leadership skills.
  • Leadership skills required
  • Will be working with team members of the design group, as well as electricians on the production floor
  • Must have Professional Engineering Experience with Master/Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Engineer.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US Codes and standards (NEC, CEC, NFPA70) – ensure designs comply
