Description:

The HVAC Mechanic 2 performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. The position relies on experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities, works under minimal supervision, while creativity is expected to perform the job, and may lead and direct the work of others.

  1. Preventative Maintenance & Repair: This will have been satisfactorily performed when 95% of all PM Work Orders are complete on time, and
  • Plant equipment including various types of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment are maintained properly, on a monthly basis.
  • Facilities equipment and services are inspected monthly.
  • Unscheduled requests are evaluated and prioritized against scheduled requests.

  • Unscheduled requests are completed within 36 hours of receipt, when possible.
  • Repairs and preventive maintenance tasks on all HVAC and related ancillary equipment in the physical plant, are completed appropriately and in a safe and proper manor, and in accordance with EOC and department policies and procedures as demonstrated by productivity on work order system is 85% or higher.
