We are seeking a talented and experienced HW Test & Quality Assurance Engineer at our head office in Vancouver, Canada.
Responsibilities

Our products comprise SW systems as well as mechanical, electrical and electronic components, all requiring adherence to stringent regulatory requirements. The Test and Quality Assurance Engineer leads the testing and quality processes for the battery system products, ensuring they meet these standards. This position includes creating test plans and procedures, hands-on testing and preparing reports to ensure compliance with both regulatory and internal requirements. Additionally, this Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing quality assurance methodologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Preparation of detailed test plans for component and system performance testing.
  • Develop detailed test plans for verification and validation of the system, leading to regulatory approval
  • Execution of test plans at internal and external test facilities
  • Creation of test reports
  • Perform hands-on testing of individual components and entire systems, with an eye to automation wherever possible
  • Create hardware test infrastructure – to verify the design and performance of various aspects of our products and sub-systems, from mechanical to electrical hardware to software to dynamic performance
  • Participation in structured technical troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis
  • Participation in design reviews and DFMEAs
  • Assist the other development teams in improving their internal QA processes
  • Test components and systems to verify electrical, mechanical, and dynamic performance
  • Set up equipment to perform continuous testing and characterization
  • Promote a culture of safety

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading product testing and quality assurance efforts
  • Experience with environmental and EMC/EMI testing of electronics is an advantage
  • Design experience of HW Electronics is an advantage
  • Previous QA process management experience beneficial
  • Proficient in testing methodologies, test automation tools, and scripting languages.
  • Strong skills in interpreting and understanding industry standards, safety regulations, and certification processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with high voltage battery systems is preferred
