Are you our new ICFR (Internal Control Over Financial Reporting) Manager?
The ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) Manager will be responsible for enhancing financial governance, ensuring that robust controls are in place and appropriately documented. Driving behavioural changes towards internal control across the business.

What will you do:

  • Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors, including supporting management responses, aligning with internal stakeholders and ensuring that any agreed recommendations are implemented
  • Point of contact as the “ICFR Expert” for queries from across the business
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place, this will also involve leading the design and development of internal controls
  • Manage and implement end-to-end ICFR programme in line with industry best practice
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate risks impacting financial reporting
  • Lead the testing and evaluation of control effectiveness, working with relevant stakeholders to implement remediation plans for deficiencies, compensating controls and mitigating controls as required
  • Maintain and update ICFR documentation, including policies, process narratives, flow charts and risk matrices
  • Deliver training and guidance on best practice to the business
  • Manage the Control Self Assessment (CSA) process, including implementing a framework for liaising with Joint Ventures
  • Complete quarterly reporting to the Audit Committee on ICFR compliance status and trends, effectiveness of remediation and progress of remedial plans
  • Drive continuous improvement in ICFR processes, reporting and systems
  • Promote a culture of financial control risk awareness
  • Support the roll out of the Global ICFR programme to newly acquired entities

What we’re looking for:

  • Internal/external (Big 4) audit background with focus on control testing, ICFR or risk assessment/management within a listed group
  • SOx experience a plus
  • Previous experience working in a financial services environment would be beneficial
  • Extensive knowledge of ICFR
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to impart knowledge to others in a clear and concise manner.
  • Highly organised with the ability to handle conflicting demands and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, project and product management skills
  • Ability to engage with Senior Management, Group and Local internal clients
  • The ability to absorb and work under pressure to get the job done to high standards and to tight deadlines.
  • Capable of working proactively and on own initiative
  • Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA or equivalent
  • Numerate degree or equivalent
