An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Relationship Manger (BRM) to join the Business Planning, Engagement and Digital Transformation Team. A critical part of delivering a responsive and strategically driven ICT & Digital service is through relationship management, to ensure the service effectively responds to the challenges, problems and opportunities encountered by service areas.
This is an additional full time, fixed term post for 2 years due to funding availability. The successful candidate will join 2 existing BRMs to increase engagement across the whole organisation that has been lacking due to capacity. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to demonstrate the value the additional post brings to the organisation that may lead to extending the post beyond 2 years or creating a permanent post. It is therefore essential the successful candidate has the right skills to achieve improvements and measure the value the additional post brings to the organisation during the fixed term.
The post holder will manage the relationship between ICT & Digital and a range of service areas. We are looking to appoint a creative and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an insight into how technology can address business problems in a Local Government environment. You will have the skills to work well with colleagues at all levels, and be able to articulate complex technology solutions to business problems.
You will have good knowledge of current and future digital technology. Additionally, an interest and desire to improve council services through digital innovations including artificial intelligence would be advantageous.
Specifically, the successful candidate will:
- Work with service areas to understand the strategic direction of their service and align this to an effective technology roadmap, while ensuring alignment with the Corporate Plan
- Align the strategy of service areas with corporate strategies and the strategies of partners, suppliers etc.
- Develop business cases with service areas to address strategic, tactical and operational needs
- Drive forward the procurement, development and implementation of technology ideas, initiatives and projects
- Monitor, manage, and continuously improve Service Level Agreements to ensure satisfaction, performance, and intervention where required
- Develop and publish service communications to the wider Council and potentially partners
Develop technology-related funding bids to appropriate sources with colleagues and partners
The vacancy is an excellent opportunity to push forward the Council’s ambitious digital agenda – an agenda that seeks to improve the lives of the citizens of Hull through the innovative application of technology.
