Responsibilities:
OVERALL PURPOSE
To support the ICT & Services Manager in providing an IT service for school staff, pupils and parents.
DUTIES
Reporting to the ICT & Services Manager the post holder will be required to:
- Be responsible for providing day-to-day support across the school.
- To assist all staff and students to resolve problems with the use of hardware and software, to ensure that students can maximise the use of available IT equipment and systems thereby maximising their understanding of the range of learning opportunities and the quality of work.
- Supporting and maintaining all School owned technology including desktops, software, laptops, printers, and mobile technology.
- Be able to support Windows O/S, Microsoft Office, and a knowledge of Mac OS.
- Maintaining regular communication with users whilst resolving their logged issues.
- To provide basic phone-based ICT support to the business, academic, day and boarding house areas of the school.
- Resolving performance and or hardware issues of any IT and audio-visual hardware, software, and cabling.
- Proactively walking the site and checking IT equipment to log any faults and damage in the IT helpdesk.
- Supporting internal and external events where IT support is required.
- A wide range of technical duties primarily in connection with maintaining, upgrading, and replacing IT installations (hardware and software) and decommissioning hardware.
- Generic duties and responsibilities relevant to all members of staff.
- Installing and rebuilding, operating systems and application software on computers as required Install, maintain and upgrade software to enable all students and staff to make full use of all available IT equipment and systems.
- Escalating challenges as applicable.
- Reporting any recurring issues to the ICT & Services Manager
Future development
- Assist with projects including expansion planning, migrations, deployments, and upgrades.
- To advise staff in the use of software to enable them to improve the quality of teaching and learning for students.
