Description:
Job Summary:
Performs secondary case activities to assist Child Welfare Specialists in completing case management responsibilities. Activities may include interviewing applicants, making copies of case files and completing referral applications, obtaining signatures, transporting children and adults who are included in the case plan activities, supervising visits and recording interactions between visiting parties, assisting in the physical placement of children, obtaining and filing legal paperwork, scheduling appointments and other duties as assigned.
Job Duties:
Provides timely transportation of children and parents for visitation, services, and court attendance. Observes and documents client interaction, compliance, and any other activity in a database within 30 days of case activity. Keeps all logs and provides reports as requested. Supervises visitation and can recognize risk factors and can curtail visits for negative actions or identification of risks. Reports any concerns and risk observations immediately to the worker or supervisor responsible for the case. Gathers and files reports and court documents as instructed. Assists with file maintenance both electronic and physical. Completes safety training and car seat installation training within the first ninety (90) days of employment. Aides in the actual placement of children. Copies case files and other documents as needed. Sets up appointments for clientele and ensures scheduling for all parties is accommodated. Completes applications for services for children and adults. Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); no exceptions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
No additional experience required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should know Database software, Internet software, and Word Processing software.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. Must have a personal vehicle available at all times to perform the work required by this position.
