Description:

The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialist II reporting to the Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) Manager, creates all required analysis in support of the Logistic Support Analysis function for Vancouver Shipyards new major vessel build programs under the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS).

Responsibilities:

The ILS Specialist will conduct the following activities. Logistics Support Analysis, including but not limited to:

  • Reliability & Availability: determining the probability of mission success and the percentage of time the vessel is available to conduct the missions.
  • Maintainability: determining the required spares, consumables, support & test equipment, and other resources required to complete a maintenance task.
  • Failure Modes Analysis: determining how systems can fail, the effects of those failures and determining mitigation measures to minimize the likelihood or effect.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance: determining preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to aid in Availability optimization.
  • Level of Repair Analysis: determining the most cost effective and appropriate level to repair an item at within the constraints of repair facilities.
  • Life Cycle Costings Analysis: Determining the cost of the vessel over its 30-to-45-year life cycle, and the impact that support or design changes can make on it.
  • Sparing Analysis: Conducting optimization to determine the correct range and quantity of spare parts to be held and at what location.
  • Maintenance Planning: Developing the maintenance plan from the maintainability analysis including task packaging to optimize resource utilization.
  • Technical Publication review and development as required.
  • Follow schedule and budget.
  • Participate and chair meetings and forums as needed.
  • Control and achieve the desired quality for all deliverables and communication conducted.
  • Review vendor documentation.Any other tasking as defined by the LSA Manager.
