Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Implementation Manager is a member of the iaBPG Centre, whose role focuses specifically on the RNAO Clinical Pathways Program. The goal of this Program is to promote technology-enabled evidence-based practice in Ontario’s long-term care sector through the implementation of RNAO Clinical Pathways which are digitized versions of RNAO’s Best Practice Guidelines. The primary function of the Implementation Manager is to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of RNAO Clinical Pathways funded by the Government of Ontario and other funders. ()The role incorporates the application of implementation science at the individual, organizational, and system levels using two frameworks: Knowledge-to-Action and Social Movement Action.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field and a minimum of five years related experience.
  • Experience in the role of Director of Nursing or Director of Care in the long-term care sector.
  • Knowledge of the long-term care sector and related initiatives.
  • Knowledge of and passion for both implementation science and social movement approaches, concepts and principles.
  • Experience with the BPSO® program or the implementation of Best Practice Guidelines or RNAO Clinical Pathways would be considered an asset.
  • Judgement required to resolve unusual or sensitive inquiries and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to operate a computer and use a variety of software programs
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal - to prepare reports, proposals, correspondence and answer email/telephone inquiries
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to engage and collaborate with staff and external personnel.
  • Knowledge and skill in planning and facilitating learning events and programs targeted to small and large groups, in person and virtual, including curriculum development, delivery and evaluation.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to engage and motivate others.
  • Ability to work independently or with teams including internal and external personnel.
  • Strong leadership, team building and motivational skills, and project management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of knowledge transfer strategies, programs and professional development offerings targeted to individuals, groups and organizations.
  • Collaborate with other members of the iaABPG Centre to support Best Practice Spotlight Organizations® (BPSO ()® ()) (i.e., BPSO® Directs, BPSO® Hosts and/or BPSO® OHTs) implementing the RNAO Clinical Pathways.
  • Regularly engage with large corporations using a systematic approach to support the implementation of the RNAO Clinical Pathways in the long-term care homes they own or manage.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to develop evidence-based RNAO Clinical Pathways and curricula to support knowledge transfer.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate in-person and/or virtual small and large group professional development offerings using principles of adult learning.
  • Provide guidance and direction to project coordinators to plan and execute portfolio deliverables.
  • Contribute to activities related to the planning, implementation, dissemination, evaluation and marketing phases of the RNAO Clinical Pathways and other funded or related projects, as required.
  • Contribute to the development of funding proposals in collaboration with the Director, Associate Director(s), and/or Senior Program Manager.
  • Develop and submit abstracts for presentation, publications and other formal academic/scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to performance reviews of project coordinators and Implementation Specialists, and liaise with the Director, Associate Director(s) and/or Senior Program Manager as required to create a collaborative and productive work environment that fosters professional growth and engagement of employees in the iaBPG Centre.
  • Engage in social media to promote the uptake and dissemination of activities related to the RNAO Clinical Pathways and BPSO® programs.
  • Other relevant duties as required by the job.
