Import Operations Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Directs staff in expediting import correspondence, bid requests, and credit collections
• Maintain awareness of client needs to develop compliance recommendations and decisions and opportunities for enhanced services.
• Manages marketing of import services and growth of the procurement segment of the business.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Arranges shipping details such as import licenses, customs declarations, and packing and routing product
• Expedites export-import arrangements and maintains current information on export-import tariffs, licenses, and restrictions
• Effectively manages difficult client situations
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position may require extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing and walking. Some light lifting may be required in some instances
• Other Skills & Abilities
• Ability to be a team-player and work effectively with senior-level staff.
• Ability to communicate at all levels, be proactive and be able to work effectively under pressure.
• Proficient at MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
• Ability to pay attention to detail and be highly organized.
• Strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment while providing inspiration to a growing team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 8 or more years of related industry experience.
• 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience
