Job Description
We’re looking to onboard an In-House Paralegal to our team at TOPdesk UK!
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to enter the legal field in a commercial context. We are a SaaS company with customers around the world, and as our Paralegal your primary responsibilities will involve drafting, negotiating, and managing the contracts we agree with our customers.
Part of our company culture revolves around giving responsibility and trust to our employees early on, and this role is no exception! You will have support from our Legal team to get you up to speed and teach you most of the relevant expertise. What we expect from you is to have commercial awareness and a solid understanding of UK contract law (as the rest of our team have expertise in the EU).
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and analysing commercial contracts with our customers, assessing the legal and commercial risks
- Leading contract negotiations with customers
- Cross-functional collaboration (for example with our local Sales or Consultancy teams)
- Conducting ad hoc legal research where required
- Collaborating with our headquarters’ Legal team on global projects
- Globally serving as TOPdesk’s expert in UK-based contract law
- Communicating legal matters in layman’s terms
We are looking for someone to work 3 days a week, although there is the potential to increase this to 4 days a week if in alignment with business needs & candidate preferences.
Qualifications
- Law student at least in your 2nd year of undergraduate studies
- Solid understanding of UK contract law
- Commercial awareness and the ability to apply legal concepts in a commercial context
- Able to communicate effectively and get to the heart of complex issues both orally and in writing
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Able to manage competing deadlines
- Capable of working independently and with a team
