Job title - Inbound Road Freight Coordinator

Job summary
The role will include but is not limited to, supporting the international inbound logistics operation. The purpose of this role is to provide planning support with but not limited to making bookings, tracking inbound shipments, raising and processing purchase order numbers, ensuring shipments arrive in a timely manner to meet the needs of the business.
Cross Training will be provided as needed to assist other areas of the department to provide absence cover.

Specific responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Booking and or monitoring supplier bookings for International inbound shipments with selected freight forwarders in a timely manner
  • Tracking international inbound shipments ensuring any problems are communicated in a timely manner to the production planning team and/or warehouse goods in team.
  • Create and manage the collection/delivery of inbound sea freight containers from the USA and Far East ensuring Herman Miller fleet of vehicles is utilised where possible.
  • Create and manage a database for agreed inbound rates ensuring best rates and service are provided at all times.
  • Creating Purchase orders for suppliers and ensuring agreed rates are applied.
  • Support other areas of the business as and when required
