The role of a Critical Incident Specialist is multifaceted, involving direct intervention in workplace incidents, providing support and guidance to corporate clients, and consulting on complex service requests. They work closely with the National Manager IM and are part of a network that responds to critical situations. Their interventions will often include onsite support by way of psychological first aid, conducting group psychoeducation sessions, providing 1:1 clinical support and intervention and guidance and support to senior management. This role is crucial in maintaining workplace stability and supporting employees through challenging times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough initial assessment of the current workplace environment and implement a structured follow-up with the corporate customers, adhering to guidelines.
  • Offer comprehensive crisis management support, including trauma and workplace violence consultations
  • Offer critical incident services and coordinate responses for complex trauma events
  • Coordinate clinical response for critical incidents and complex trauma events
  • Provide critical incident response support with psychological first aid, group psychoeducation sessions and individual support and intervention for workplace related critical incidents
  • Follows TELUS Health policies, procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Supports assigned roles in projects and department clinical initiatives.
  • Submits all required documentation such as reports, timesheets, invoices, and expense forms promptly
  • Participates in team meetings and supervisions
  • Ability to travel to various work locations within home state and some potential for interstate travel

What are we looking for:

  • Qualification in Psychology/Counselling/Social work
  • Professional registration with relevant health body (AHPRA, AASW, PACFA)
  • 3 years post graduate clinical experience
  • Knowledge of impact of critical incidents, trauma in the workplace, effect on organizations and employees
  • Excellent report writing skills from Clinical Perspective
