JOB SUMMARY
Working as the Income Auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of this function ensuring that all revenues are recorded and reported on a daily basis and all control procedures are in place relating to the income process researching and resolving all discrepancies and developing procedures to eliminate such discrepancies. Assist the Assistant Director of Finance to be accountable for all the financial activities which include financial controls, protection of the company’s assets, accounting operations, preparation of financial reports and the management of the annual budget. Your tasks as an Income Auditor will include but not be limited to:
Responsibilities:
· Liaise with other departments in the Hotel concerning income audit and reporting functions.
- Verify allowances, paid out and miscellaneous postings for authorisation and coding adhere to SOP
- Investigate discrepancies and develop procedures to eliminate them.
- Prepare housekeeping discrepancy report, investigate discrepancy if needed
- Review complimentary rooms report with correct approvals
- Check that all telephone, laundry, and health club charges are captured and reconciled against Opera.
- Communicate with the Operation team and outlets about questions or problems with regard to posting that require explanation or correction
- Balance city, guest and deposit ledgers on a daily basis
- Balance room package and hotel guest charges.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of property management and point-of-sale systems.
- Review and reconcile Micros Vs Opera to make sure all has been interfaced accurately
- Make spot checks for all outlets at random. Investigate the discrepancy and report back to management with findings.
- Check all credit card refunds and backups for appropriateness and approvals as per SOP
- Advise the Assistant Director of Finance on existing operational/ financial issues
