Description:
At Danske Bank we have and are implementing BCBS 239 (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision) data management principles and as a part of the work we are looking to establish a new team within Model Risk Management (MRM) to help meet the objectives of independent data validation.
With this in mind, we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Model Risk Management team and help the bank and the team on this journey by bringing their experience to establish a new team, key validation principles and an approach and sounds and tailored approach to Independent Data validation in Danske Bank.
The role refers directly to the head of MRM and will be a part of the MRM leadership team, thus giving a solid home within an established team with deep experience and professionalism.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Support the implementation of Data Management controls, BCBS 239 regulation, and internal policies by aiding the head of MRM in setting up a new team focused on independent data validation.
- Create, own, and maintain robust data validation principles and effectively communicate these to all relevant stakeholders.
- Plan and execute end-to-end independent data validation assignments annually, and report findings to senior and executive management.
- Monitor and consult with Business and Risk stakeholders about Data Management controls and BCBS 239 requirements.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of specific BCBS 239 processes and/or data controls, such as architecture and Data Quality requirements, to uncover issues and report these findings to relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

You have a history of working in policy compliance or control roles and are adept at managing projects. You bring a great understanding of banking processes from the front-line to risk management. Your ability to navigate and thrive in complex task environments while maintaining effective communication in English demonstrates your comprehensive skill set.
- Communication Skills: You excel at presenting findings and complex topics clearly and simply to team members, peers, and senior stakeholders.
- Knowledgeable: You have a robust understanding of BCBS 239 (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision) and Data Management controls, likely from a similar role. You know how to integrate these standards with broader bank policies effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: You possess the ability to pinpoint weaknesses and areas for improvement, converting these insights into actionable recommendations.
- Leadership: You have experience leading teams, ideally with a focus on motivating and coaching through complex tasks.
- Technical Proficiency: High skills in MS Excel, including macros, and familiarity with data manipulation and visualization tools.
- Educational Background: You hold a university degree in a relevant field
