Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of two years in the Financial Services industry. Investment management experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or economics or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques and python programming language.
  • CFA certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and validates Equity ETF Portfolio Listing Files (PLF). Provides quality assurance to ensure integrity of the PLFs and provides timely resolution of discrepancies, by working closely with strategic partners and global business partners.
  • Contributes to the portfolio management process via impact mitigation and index migration strategies. Provides opinions and recommendations to regulators, professional bodies, and exchanges with regards to market structure and proposed rules.
  • Develops trading proposals for the portfolio management team related to capital gains and reinvestment strategies, under close supervision of portfolio managers. Develops and maintains broad knowledge and awareness of trading industry developments, competitors, and exchange rules that impact the trading community.
  • Works closely with industry index providers on implementing improvements to their methodologies and analytics with regard to trading and new index evaluation. Understands index methodology, benchmark characteristics and risk model attributes for the trading team and related investment groups.
  • Coordinates the transition of external client investment portfolios into/out of Vanguard index funds. Sets up operational flows to manage transition. Works with internal/external clients and portfolio managers to determine and execute the most effective and efficient transition strategies. Performs analysis on the external client’s portfolio to transition from previous custodian and perform in kind transfers. Prepares data for trading.
  • Upon exhibiting proficiency in ETF basket construction and index analytics responsibilities, as assessed by senior PMs, begins to assume equity and derivative trade execution and general portfolio oversight responsibilities. PM oversight of performance to these responsibilities is expected to lessen gradually over time.

In this role, you could be involved with:

  • informing EIG’s investment and trading strategies by performing risk, index and transaction analysis to deliver informed investment decisions and improved outcomes
  • contributing to innovation initiatives to automate manual processes, increasing efficiency and reducing operational risk within EIG.
  • creating ETF baskets to provide to the market for pricing and transacting on our ETF
