Description:
PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Indirect Procurement Lead, a hybrid position based in Ireland. Portwest is one of the fastest growing workwear companies in the world currently employing over 5,300 staff worldwide, with customer service staff in over 130+ countries and 8 Global warehouses in UK, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain, UAE, USA and Australia. We design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Indirect Procurement Lead will source, negotiate and review supplier agreements with 3rd party vendors globally for a range of products and services. This role will ensure best price, value, terms and sustainable sources for Portwest through evaluating vendor propositions, negotiations and continuous market research into alternative vendor offerings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an indirect procurement position.
- Bachelor’s degree in business/ commerce or a related field.
- CIPS qualification desired but not required.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct high level negotiations with national and international vendors ensuring best price and quality of service for Portwest.
- Interface with suppliers and staff to ensure efficient account management of purchasing controls leads to adequate service levels, contract management and value for money.
- Ongoing market research into alternative vendor options.
- Deliver cost reductions and advances in sustainable sourcing through the implementation of modern and professional strategic purchasing techniques ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Lead and establish, as appropriate, evaluation teams and stakeholder groups to ensure activities are conducted in line with Global procedures.
- Develop procurement strategies, processes and systems that provide appropriate governance and controls.
- Implementation of any audit recommendations.
- Provide ongoing support and updates to the Director of Procurement & Trading.
