Description:

The Indirect Procurement Specialist acts as a sourcing expert within Procurement, and liaison with Operations, Maintenance, IT, HR, Finance, Logistics, R&D and Sales, providing context and focus on opportunities, projects, and issues for specified indirect spend categories. The individual will have direct responsibility to manage assigned categories and suppliers supporting TenCate and affiliate group businesses. This position is in Dayton Tennessee.

  • The Indirect Procurement Specialist will report directly to the Regional Director of Purchasing (RPD). Travel will include visiting suppliers, fairs and other TenCate sites as required and will work in coordination with colleagues in other regions within our global footprint.

Responsibilities:

  • The Indirect Procurement Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within an assigned portfolio of indirect sourcing categories to support operations and maintenance, which may also include consulting services, marketing services, IT and telecommunication equipment, systems, and services, financial systems and services, human resource systems and services, office supplies, equipment, and services, and other indirect categories of goods and services.
  • Ownership of requests for information, proposals, negotiations, management of payment terms and problem resolution.
  • Generate procurement savings, report, and act when required to maintain saving objectives.
  • Analysis and improvement of sourcing and supplier management, generating savings within our Procurement savings program and advancing global compliance efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to category strategies, guidelines, and policies. Timely escalate to RPD noncompliance issues without resolution with the functional leadership.
  • Improve supplier key measurements through effective use of vendor rating tools and supplier feedback meetings.
  • Support One Team, One Mission strategy alignment within the group and coordinate indirect strategy in conjunction with Global direction of Tencate and affiliate businesses.
