Educational Coordinator Job Title: Educational CoordinatorLocation: Boston, On-SitePosition Type: Full-Time Summary of position: The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children’s Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. Manville School, a highly successful and reputable educational program, is seeking a K-6 Individual Support Team (IST) Educational Coordinator for the upcoming school year. As a member of six-person elementary school management team, the IST Educational Coordinator focuses on individualized student support, supervising the assessment classroom team in areas of curriculum development, classroom organization, and behavior management. The IST Educational Coordinator oversees the development of student IEPs and conducts formal academic achievement evaluations as part of re-evaluation.
The Educational Coordinator receives direct supervision by the assistant principal. Essential duties: Function as part of a management team, responsible for the overall functioning of Manville’s Middle School, including staffing/hiring, professional communication, and supervision.Shared supervision of classroom teams (special education teacher, assistant teacher, classroom behavior specialist) in the areas of curriculum development, classroom organization, and classroom management.Provide observation, supervision, and evaluation to special education teachers and assistant teachers.Coordinate and oversee the development of the IEP process for all students enrolled in elementary school and assessment classroom.Perform academic achievement testing in alignment with three-year re-evaluation cycles.Participate in school admission process.QualificationsEducation: M. Ed or M.S.
Ed. in Special Education or related educational fieldExperience: 5+ years of teaching experience with social/emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges; 2+ years of supervisory experienceTraining: Certification in Moderate Special Needs, K-8 required. LogisticsLicense/Certification: M. Ed or M.S.
