Description:
Design Match is looking for incredible industrial designers for client projects on the Design Match platform.
We accept both mid-level and senior designers. Many projects are from scratch, working with inventors and agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify product and market trends and customer needs to develop innovative and creative designs.
- Create and improve a product’s design, layout, and features, considering factors such as aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, production costs, and product development timelines.
- Sketch out ideas or create renderings, often using computer-aided design (CAD), to illustrate the design concept.
- Create prototypes or models of the design using various materials and techniques.
- Work closely with engineers, model makers, sales teams, and manufacturers to ensure the design is feasible and cost-effectively manufactured.
- Present designs to clients, stakeholders, or team members and modify designs based on feedback received.
- Perform usability testing and make necessary modifications to enhance user experience.
- Coordinate with manufacturing or development teams to ensure design implementation during the production stage.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial design with a strong portfolio of previous work.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino.
- Strong knowledge of product manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Ability to visualize concepts through sketching and physical prototyping.
- Excellent creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts to various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of human factors and ergonomics to design products that are functional and comfortable to use.
