QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A degree in a relevant product/industrial design discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • A portfolio showcasing your design process and presentation skills
  • Diverse experience in design for manufacturing
  • Expertise with product visualisation and rendering (Keyshot preferred)
  • Proficiency in Software tools - Solidworks, and Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
  • Experience in complex surface modelling
  • Good ideation and sketching skills to clearly communicate your ideas
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver and meet deadlines
  • Previous experience working in Defence, medical, aerospace or consumer electronics is favourable
  • Australian citizenship is preferred for Baseline and potential NV1 clearance

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

DroneShield’s Design Team is expanding and we are looking for an Industrial Designer with a strong foundation in product development.
The position will report to the Design Engineering Lead and represents a unique opportunity to design sophisticated leading-edge equipment and technology within the defence space. DroneShield has a strong foundation in Industrial Design with various industry-leading products performing with militaries and government agencies around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Conceptualize, develop, and refine new, forward-thinking products, keeping to the company’s established design language
  • Manage products over the entire development cycle
  • Develop and refine concepts for new products with input from various teams
  • Work with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage project outcomes
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand complex engineering concepts and integrate into design concepts
  • Development and maintenance of bill of materials, assembly documentation and CAD models
